What happens during a survey?

 

I’ll visit your home, take a calm and thorough look at the areas you’re concerned about, and use specialist equipment to understand what’s really going on. I explain everything in plain language as we go, so you always feel informed and reassured.

 

 

How long does a survey take?

 

Most surveys take around 60–90 minutes, depending on the size of the property and the issue. I never rush — the aim is to give you clear, reliable answers.

 

 

Are your surveys non‑invasive?

 

Yes — all surveys are completely non‑invasive. I don’t drill into walls, lift flooring, or cause any damage. Everything is assessed using visual checks, moisture readings and thermal imaging, so your home is left exactly as I found it.

 

Will you try to sell me treatments or repairs?

 

No. DampCheck is completely independent. I don’t sell remedial work, products, or services. My role is to give you clear, honest findings so you can make confident decisions.

 

 

 

Can you tell me if the issue is serious?

 

Yes — part of the survey is helping you understand whether the problem is minor, moderate, or something that needs attention. I’ll always explain things in a calm, straightforward way.

 

 

Do you use specialist equipment?

 

Yes. I use professional diagnostic tools such as moisture meters and thermal imaging to help identify hidden moisture and temperature patterns. You don’t need to understand the technical side — I’ll explain what the results mean in simple terms.

 

 

Will I get a written report?

 

Yes. Every survey includes a clear, easy‑to‑read report outlining what I found, what’s causing the issue, and what you can do next.

 

 

How soon will I receive my report?

 

Reports are usually sent within 2-4 days. If you need it sooner — for example, for a house purchase — just let me know.

 

 

How much does a survey cost?

 

Costs vary depending on the type of survey and location. If you send me a quick message through the booking form, I’ll confirm the price before anything is arranged.

 

 

Is it safe for you to work in my home?

 

Yes. I follow IOSH‑aligned health & safety practices, hold Asbestos Awareness (Category A) training, and have Awaab’s Law damp and mould awareness certification. I am DBS‑checked for complete peace of mind.

 

 

Do you work with estate agents or landlords?

 

Yes, I regularly help homeowners, landlords, tenants, and buyers. Whoever you are, you’ll always deal with me directly from start to finish.
